'Unto you, O bull, in the pressed [soma]...' is the Ārṣabha [sāman].
Indra indeed desired: 'May I be the bull of all creatures, may I attain bullhood.'
He saw this sāman.
He praised with it.
Then indeed he became the bull of all creatures, he attained bullhood.
That is the bullhood of the Ārṣabha.
He becomes the bull of his own people, he attains bullhood, who knows thus.
They also call it Daivodāsa.
Divodāsa Vādhryaśva indeed desired: 'May I secure both spiritual power and lordly power; being a king, may I be a seer.'
He saw this sāman.
He praised with it.
Then indeed he secured both spiritual power and lordly power; being a king, he became a seer.
He secures both spiritual power and lordly power, being a king he becomes a seer, who knows thus.
And because Divodāsa Vādhryaśva saw it, therefore it is called Daivodāsa.
