'having taken human form, devour them in return in that world.' 'What is the expiation for that?' 'When he thus offers the first oblation with speech, that is the expiation for it; through that he is released from it,' he said. 'What was the third?' 'A man indeed devoured a man who was speaking silently,' he said. 'Yes,' he said. 'Those who, offering the fire-offering in this world without knowing thus, cook rice and barley that speak silently, rice and barley indeed, having taken human form, devour them in return in that world.' 'What is the expiation for that?' 'When he thus offers the second oblation with mind, that is the expiation for it; through that he is released from it,' he said. 'What was the fourth?' 'Two women guarded great wealth,' he said. 'Yes,' he said. 'They were Faith and Unbelief. Those who, offering the fire-offering in this world without knowing thus, sacrifice without faith, that goes to Unbelief; what they sacrifice having faith, that goes to Faith.' 'What is the expiation for that?' 'When he thus consumes [the remainder] twice with a finger, that is the expiation for it; through that he is released from it,' he said.
