Regarding this, they say: 'One should give [sacrificial gifts] only in mind at the morning pressing, in mind at the third pressing; one should give [them physically] only at the midday pressing.' But regarding this they also say: 'The morning pressing is an improper time for sacrificial gifts; the third pressing is an improper time. One should give only at the midday pressing. That is the proper time; that is the proper abode. Giving at the other two pressings, one should not heed even mentally.' He gives the horse to the brahman priest; for the horse is the sole sacrificial gift of the brahman priest. When the midday cups are placed, then he should say: 'Spread out behind the āhavanīya fire a black antelope skin with its neck turned toward the east, or with its neck turned toward the north.' There the sacrificer sits. He wipes [his face] with the [remnants of the] offered cups, [saying:] 'At the impulse of the god Savitṛ, with the arms of the Aśvins, with the hands of Pūṣan, I anoint you for Sarasvatī, with the control of speech the restrainer, with the universal sovereignty of Bṛhaspati, with the brahman.' He wipes his face. Anointed with soma, he becomes full of brilliance and spiritual luster. They shout aloud three times. Three indeed are these worlds; they place renown for him in these worlds.
