Then the Arkapuṣpa; food, indeed, is the arka, [used] just for the attainment of proper food.
Then the Samanta;
so that prosperity may be all around him.
Then the Yaudhājaya with three finales, for the proper ordering of the pressings.
Then the Auśana as the final sāman, so that by the final sāman he may attain the highest heavenly world.
Then the Rathantara;
the Rathantara, indeed, is brahman;
this is a Brahmasava;
so that being consecrated, he may be consecrated with brahman.
Then the Vāmadevya, so that what is auspicious and peaceful may follow him who has pressed [soma];
moreover, cattle, indeed, are the Vāmadevya, just for the attainment of cattle.
Then the Naudhasa, the familiar Brahma-sāman;
[it is] the familiar Brahma-sāman, lest they should omit [it].
Then the Kāleya, so that there may be joy for him who has pressed [soma];
and also so that he who has pressed [soma] may attain the proper time, and so that they may drive off him who is to be driven off by him.
With "Whichever exhilaration of thine is the most choice...", the Gāyatrī verses of the Ārbhava Pavamāna contain [the word] "juice".
Food, indeed, is juice.
Thereby, right at the opening of the pavamāna [laud], they furnish him, who has pressed [soma], with proper food.
