'Adha kṣapā pariṣkṛtaḥ'—[the hymn] ends with an anuṣṭubh.
Truly, that Udgātṛ should officiate as sacrificing priest for a king with the Rājasūya, who would make him mount the divine throne of the gods at the very Bahiṣpavamāna.
The introductory verse is an anuṣṭubh; the final one is an anuṣṭubh.
Of those two there are sixty-four syllables.
Of those, the sixty [syllables] are the throne;
then the four [syllables] are the legs of the throne.
In this way, indeed, the Udgātṛ makes the king mount the divine throne of the gods at the very Bahiṣpavamāna.
The ājya [stotras] are of both kinds;
for two sāmans are performed here.
Regarding this they say: only one of the two kinds should be performed, namely the Bārhatas;
for the ājyas belong to the subject: 'May the kṣatra be consecrated through the powerful subject,' [they think].
Now they also say: both kinds must be performed;
for being consecrated, he is consecrated for the sovereignty of all;
therefore both kinds should indeed be performed.
They are fifteen-versed;
the fifteen-fold is the kṣatra;
'May he be consecrated by the kṣatra,' [he thinks].
