2-7.265
She who was the thousandth [cow], having become lightning itself, entered Prajāpati. With reference to this, this [verse] is recited:
'Here he bellows, by whom the cow is enveloped; she moos a moo, perched upon the cloud-bank. By her thoughts she has brought down the mortal; turning into lightning, she cast off her covering.'
Having put aside the form of this very cow, having become lightning indeed, she entered back into Prajāpati. That is this lightning; when it thunders, 'dadadadada,' [saying] 'Let me give, let me give!' she bestows rain and nourishment upon creatures. For him who knows thus, this deity bestows rain and nourishment.
