2-8.278

He said: 'No. Either by giving or by toil, one knowing this goes [there]. Come now, let us two give or let us two toil.' Mitravis Deṣṭradyumna went for a year with the Go and Āyus rites. Just above the year, he went to the heavenly world. Then Datva Sautemanasa, having sacrificed with this very three-day rite, went to the heavenly world. Having sacrificed with this very rite, one goes to the heavenly world. With this very rite, Hiraṇyadant Baida sacrificed, desiring pairs. The cattle and horse, elephant and gold, goats and sheep, rice and barley, sesame and beans that are here—of all this he had much. One who, knowing thus, sacrifices desiring pairs, for him this becomes plentiful.
