2-8.376
They are established upon prosperity.
The pṛṣṭhas are supremacy.
They are established upon supremacy.
The pṛṣṭhas are splendor; they are established upon splendor.
Cattle, indeed, are the Abhiplava six-day period; the self is the Pṛṣṭhya.
When they undertake the Abhiplava six-day period and then undertake the Pṛṣṭhya, they place man over cattle.
Therefore man stands, as it were, above cattle.
The root, indeed, is the Abhiplava six-day period; the top is the Pṛṣṭhya.
When they undertake the Abhiplava six-day period and then undertake the Pṛṣṭhya, therefore plants sprout from the root and ripen at the top.
These are five six-day periods.
The sacrifice is fivefold.
They are established in the full measure of the sacrifice.
It amounts to a month.
The month is the year.
Month by month, they attain the year.
It has thirty nights; the Virāj has thirty syllables; the Virāj is food; being established in food, in the Virāj, they go on.
