As to that, they say: 'A stump, as it were, of the hotṛ-offices is the acchāvāka. If they conclude following the acchāvāka, they would be chanting as if upon a stump.' / Its Brahman's sāman is the Traikakubha, [and] the Acchāvāka's sāman is the Udveśīya. / The Traikakubha is vital power and faculty; the Udveśīya is the complete form of the pṛṣṭhas. / In vital power and faculty, and in the complete form of the pṛṣṭhas, they establish themselves at the end. / That indeed praised it. / As to that, they say: 'Only an Agniṣṭoma should be performed.' / Of it there are twelve stotras; / twelve months are the year; / and this is the highest joint of the year, namely the month. / 'So that our year may be begun by that which is the highest joint of the year.' / However, they are liable to become without cattle; cattle, indeed, are the ukthas, for they depart from them. / They should make three stotras forty-eight-[versed]: both the pavamānas and the Brahman's sāman; / so many are the stoma-verses of the Ukthya. / They attain that wish which is in the Ukthya, and they do not depart from the Agniṣṭoma. / The Agniṣṭoma is the summit; the hotṛ is the summit; by the summit they thus join the summit; by the summit they establish themselves on the summit. / The Agniṣṭoma is fortune; the hotṛ is supremacy; by supremacy they thus join supremacy; by supremacy they establish themselves in supremacy.

2-8.378.p8
'Since it pervades these worlds, let us pervade these worlds through it.'
