2-8.381
Having united two meters, the Anuṣṭubh and the Paṅkti, they should complete six months, leaving one meter remaining. They should apply the Jagatī at the Viṣuvant day. The Viṣuvant indeed belongs to the Jagatī. Thus they enrich the Viṣuvant in its own realm. The meters are indeed the heavenly world. Thus ascending, they go to the heavenly world. On that point they say: These meters become discordant, as it were, when they unite these two by two. For where will the days of today and tomorrow coincide? All seven [meters], each having four [syllables] more than the previous, should be applied. Having applied the Gāyatrī on the first day, the Uṣṇih on the second, and the Anuṣṭubh on the third, they should complete five months with the Bṛhatī. Having applied the Paṅkti on the first day, they should complete six months with the Triṣṭubh, leaving one meter remaining. They should apply the Jagatī at the Viṣuvant day. The Viṣuvant indeed belongs to the Jagatī. Thus they enrich the Viṣuvant in its own realm. The meters are indeed the heavenly world. Thus ascending, they go to the heavenly world.
