2-8.429
Now with reference to the deities: This world is the introductory Atirātra. What is white in it is the form of the day; what is black is of the night; the various [wonders] are of the constellations. The heavenly world is the year. The introductory day is the spiritual power; the Abhiplava is the royal power; the Pṛṣṭhya is Agni; the Abhijit is the All-Gods; the Svarasāmans are the Ādityas; the Viṣuvant is Indra; the Viśvajit is day and night; the Go and Āyus [rites] are the worlds; the days of the twelve-day rite are Prajāpati; the Mahāvrata day is that world; the concluding Atirātra is this world. This is the form of the day; this of the night; the constellations are of the constellations.
