He sings in the Paṅkti meter.
The Paṅkti is the seasons.
He sings it as extended as the Gāyatrī itself.
Therefore embryos, when being born, are extended.
He should sing it reading along.
If he were to sing it without reading along, embryos would fall out prematurely.
Prematurely indeed do embryos fall in the course of an incompetent Udgātṛ.
Now, as for this last triplet, that is birth itself.
Through it he indeed brings [them] to birth.
The seminal verse is the mind, the Gāyatrī is breath, the Triṣṭubh is the eye, the Jagatī is the ear, the Anuṣṭubh is speech.
He who sings as an Udgātṛ knowing: 'Mind is the seminal verse,' from him is born one who is magnanimous, possessing mind.
Now, he who sings as an Udgātṛ knowing: 'The Gāyatrī is breath,' attains a full lifespan.
Then he who is born from him attains a full lifespan.
Now, he who sings as an Udgātṛ knowing: 'The Triṣṭubh is the eye,' from him is born one with an unashamed face, discerning by sight, handsome to look upon.
Now, he who sings as an Udgātṛ knowing: 'The Jagatī is the ear,' from him is born one who is obedient, learned in the Veda, worthy of being heard.
Now, he who sings as an Udgātṛ knowing: 'The Anuṣṭubh is speech,' from him is born a praiser, an Udgātṛ, gratifying through speech.
