He who sacrifices in my dominion shall be overcome! The gods do not eat of what is unoffered, nor is an offering on a leaf to be made!' Then Indra approached Upagu Sauśravasa and said, 'Let me officiate for you in sacrifice.' He said, 'Indeed, they do not sacrifice here. Whoever sacrifices here, him they would conquer.' He showed him world after world, [saying,] 'Having sacrificed, one wins this world, and this.' He reflected: 'Even if they conquer that one, come, let me sacrifice!' He said to him, 'Officiate for me!' He officiated for him. The sadas hall and the havirdhāna shed arose of their own accord. He pressed Soma in a mortar. He said, 'Come here away from Kutsa.' He went to Kutsa himself. He said to him, 'For whom did you sacrifice?' 'For Upagu.' 'Conquer this Upagu!'
