They also call it the Āśva. The gods, desiring heaven, practiced tapas. They saw this sāman. With it they praised. Thereupon they attained the heavenly world. This is a heavenly sāman. He attains the heavenly world who knows thus. Now the Bharga. By means of the Bharga the gods became radiant. They sit at the sacrificial session [thinking], 'May we become radiant!' They indeed become radiant. The Bharga is indeed prosperity. He attains prosperity who knows thus. Now the Abhiśava, for having reins on both sides. Just as one might drive with one rein, so it is when there is one; and just as one might drive with both reins, so it is when there are both. By these two, the twelve-day rite proceeds secured, uninjured. By the twelve-day rite, secured and uninjured, he crosses over evil and attains prosperity who knows thus.
