The Bṛhat and the Rathantara pushed back these forms: the Vairūpa, the Vairāja, the Mahānāmnīs, and the Revatīs. Then the Bṛhatī pushed back the Virāj, the Śakvarī, and the Revatī. They passed beyond these. The gods watched them, just as one would watch a fish moving along with a wave. They emerged on the seventh day, just as fishes would surface together. All these are mingled in the chandomas. That Bṛhat is in the Bṛhatī; the Rathantara is in the Bṛhatī. Just as one would cross over a fierce shallow place by gripping firmly, even so the gods crossed over this third three-day period. They came to this heavenly world: that is this tenth day. For this tenth day is indeed the heavenly world. It consists of twenty-four [syllables]. The twenty of it are the Virāj; then the four are that summit of the sun. In it the gods milk all desires. He offers: 'Sending forth the supporter to the mother, the supporter sucking the mother, may he sustain wealth, nourishment, food, and sap in us, svāhā.' Whatever desire he may desire, on that he should meditate. When this [oblation] is offered, that desire is fulfilled for him who knows thus. 'How could it not be fulfilled for one who knows thus?' so said Śāṭyāyani.
