This deity reflected upon them,
this one who rises in the east, for it was then of human form.
With the trivṛt stoma, with the Gāyatrī meter, he took the luster of the Rathantara;
he placed it from there into himself.
With the fifteenfold stoma, with the Triṣṭubh meter, he took the luster of the Bṛhat;
he placed it from there into himself.
With the seventeenfold stoma, with the Jagatī meter, he took the luster of the Vairūpa;
he placed it from there into himself.
With the twenty-onefold stoma, with the Anuṣṭubh meter, he took the luster of the Vairāja;
he placed it from there into himself.
With the twenty-sevenfold stoma, with the Paṅkti meter, he took the luster of the Śākvara;
he placed it from there into himself.
With the thirty-threefold stoma, with the Atichandas meter, he took the luster of the Raivata;
he placed it from there into himself.
Therefore, all beings are established in the waters in the end.
As he took it, voices called out, 'He has taken it, he has taken it!'
That is the Āditya-nature of Āditya.
'They have not blamed your fiery energy, your faculty, your vital power'; he who knows thus fastens his defect upon his reviler.
