deva savitar pra-suva yajñam
pra-suva yajña-patim bhagāya /
divyas gandharvas keta-pūṣ ketam nas punātu
vācas-patiṣ vācam nas svadatu //

God Savitṛ, impel the sacrifice,
impel the patron of the sacrifice toward good fortune!
May the heavenly Gandharva, purifier of thought, purify our thought;
may the lord of speech sweeten our speech!
