agniṣ etu prathamas devatābhyas
sas asyai prajām muñcatu mṛtyu-pāśāt /
tat ayam rājā varuṇas anu-manyatām
yathā iyam strī pautram agham na rodāt // svāhā //
May Agni come first among the deities;
may he release her offspring from the noose of death!
May this King Varuṇa consent to that,
so that this woman may not weep for grandson-related misfortune! // svāhā
