You are different-eyed, anointed-toothed. / Your couch is in a leaf; your dwelling is in the atmosphere, a golden pavilion. / There the hearts of the gods are placed inside an iron pot. / Balabhṛt and Balasāt protect them, never slumbering, unwinking, truly. / Your twelve sons, / having caused you to sacrifice year after year with the wish-fulfilling sacrifice, / enter upon brahmacarya again. / You are a brāhmaṇa among the gods, I among mortals. / A brāhmaṇa indeed runs to a brāhmaṇa; I run to you. / Do not chant against me as I chant; do not pour oblations against me as I pour oblations; / do not act against me as I act. / To you I resort; impelled by you I will perform this rite: / let that succeed for me, let that prosper for me, let that turn out well for me! / May the all-embracing ocean, the Brahmā, permit me! / May Tutha, who knows all, the son of Brahman, permit me! / May the attentive, benevolent Maitrāvaruṇa permit me! / Homage to that different-eyed, anointed-toothed, all-embracing ocean, / to Tutha who knows all, to the attentive, benevolent, / thousand-eyed son of Brahman!
