bhūtameva pūrva ājyabhāgaḥ bhaviṣyaduttaro'va ha vai bhūtaṃ ca bhaviṣyacca runddhe'tho yatkiṃ ca bhūtena ca bhaviṣyatā ca jayyaṃ sarvaṃ haiva tajjayati
The first butter-portion, doubtless, is the past, and the second the future: verily, he secures for himself both the past and the future; and whatever is to be gained by the past and the future, all that he now gains.
