athaitaṃ viṣṇuṃ yajñam | etairyajurbhiḥ pura ivaiva bibhrati tasmātpuraścaraṇaṃ nāma
And by means of these Yagus they, as it were, bring forward (puras) that Vishnu, the sacrifice: hence the name 'puraskarana' (preparatory ceremony).
