grīvā uṣṇihaḥ | tā anantarhitā gāyatrībhya upadadhātyanantarhitāstacīrṣṇo grīvā dadhāti
Ushnihs are the neck: he places them close to the Gâyatrîs, and thereby places the neck close to the head.
