idaṃ vai tanmadhu dadhyaṅṅātharvaṇo'śvibhyāmuvāca tadetadṛṣiḥ paśyannavocat puraścakre dvipadaḥ puraścakrecatuṣpadaḥ puraḥ sa pakṣī bhūtcā puraḥ puruṣa āviśaditi sa vā ayaṃ puruṣaḥ sarvāsu pūrṣu puriśayo nainena kiṃcanānāvṛtaṃ nainena kiṃcanāsaṃvṛtam

This is that meditation on things mutually helpful which Dadhyach, versed in the Atharva-Veda, taught the Ashwins. Perceiving this the Rishi said, 'He made bodies with two feet and bodies with four feet. That Supreme Being first entered the bodies as a bird (the subtle body).' He on account of his dwelling in all bodies is called the Purusha. There is nothing that is not covered by Him, nothing that is not pervaded by Him.
