devānāmasi vahnitamaḥ pitṝṇāṃ prathamā svadhā
ṛṣīṇāṃ caritaṃ satyamatharvāṅgirasāmasi
8. Thou art the chief bearer [of oblations] to the gods!
Thou art the first offering to the fathers!
Thou art the true practice of the seers,
Descendants of Atharvan and Aṅgiras!
