Bhūḥ is your beginning, Bhuvaḥ is your middle, Svaḥ is your head; you are the all-formed, the oneness of Brahman, two-fold, three-fold. You are intellect, you are peace, you are nourishment; [you are] the offered and the unoffered, the given and the ungiven, all and not-all, the universe and non-universe, the done and the undone, the supreme and the non-supreme, and the ultimate refuge. We have drunk Soma, we have become immortal, we have attained the light, we have found the gods; what now can an enemy do to us, what malice, O immortal one, [harm] a mortal? Before the moon and the sun is the subtle Puruṣa. Beneficial to the entire world, indeed, is this imperishable [syllable], belonging to Prajāpati, subtle, gentle; by his own splendor he consumes the Puruṣa, the apprehensible by the unapprehensible, being by being, the gentle by the gentle, the subtle by the subtle, the aerial by the aerial. Therefore, unto the withdrawer, the great devourer, verily, obeisance, obeisance!
