(ṭa) ato mānavadharmaprāmāṇyājjātistāvad brāhmaṇo na bhavati| yadi
hi jātirbrāhmaṇaḥ syāt, tadā patane31 śūdrabhāvo nopapadyate| kiṃ khalu
duṣṭo'pyaśvaḥ32 sūkaro33 bhavet? tasmājjātirapi brāhmaṇo na bhavati34
(ṭha) śarīramapi brāhmaṇo na bhavati

(k) Therefore, from the authority of the Laws of Manu, birth is not the brāhmaṇa. For if birth were the brāhmaṇa, then upon falling, the condition of being a śūdra would not be possible. Would indeed a horse, even if defective, become a pig? Therefore, birth also is not the brāhmaṇa.
(l) Nor is the body the brāhmaṇa.
