The mandākrāntā metre.
First the four [syllables], O fair-formed woman, are heavy; and if the eleventh and twelfth [are heavy], / O lovely girl; thereafter, O [sweet] with the fragrance of the night-lotus, the two syllables following the twelfth [are heavy]; // and likewise the final two [are heavy]; where, O darling, the caesura is at [intervals of] the ages, the rasas, and the horses, / the foremost poets, O slender woman, proclaim that to be mandākrāntā.
