Having gone to the edge of the water, he gives water libations by giving three handfuls of water: 'This sweet, flowing wave is yours, father [and] ancestor. As great as Agni and the earth are, such is its measure, such is its greatness; so great as it is, I give it. Just as Agni is imperishable and inexhaustible, so for my father [and] ancestor let it be imperishable, inexhaustible svadhā. Subsist, O [name], on the imperishable svadhā together with them. The Ṛgveda verses are your greatness. This sweet, flowing wave is yours, grandfather [and] ancestor. As great as Vāyu and the intermediate space are, such is its measure, such is its greatness; so great as it is, I give it. Just as Vāyu is imperishable and inexhaustible, so for my grandfather [and] ancestor let it be imperishable, inexhaustible svadhā. Subsist, O [name], on the imperishable svadhā together with them. The Yajurveda formulas are your greatness.'
