Agniveshyagrihyasutra 3.9.3.21

ya evaṃ vidvānudagayane pramīyate sauryeṇa pathā svargaṃ lokametyatha yo dakṣiṇe pramīyate cāndramasena pathā pitṛlokameti iti vijñāyate \

“He who, knowing thus, dies in the northern course of the sun, goes to the heavenly world by the solar path; then he who dies in the southern [course], goes to the world of the ancestors by the lunar path”; so it is taught.
