- yo 'rdhvam āgrahāyaṇyās tāmisrāṣṭamī, tām apūpāṣṭake 'ty ācakṣate.

The eighth day of the dark fortnight after the Âgrahâyanî is called Apûpâshtakâ (i.e. Ashtakâ of the cakes).
