Having entered the house, sat down behind the fire upon the skin of a bull, while she holds on to him from behind upon darbha grass, the husband offers four oblations: ‘Through Agni as god, the earth-world of worlds, the Ṛgveda of Vedas, through that I pacify you, so-and-so, svāhā! Through Vāyu as god, the atmosphere-world of worlds, the Yajurveda of Vedas, through that I pacify you, so-and-so, svāhā! Through Sūrya as god, the heaven-world of worlds, the Sāmaveda of Vedas, through that I pacify you, so-and-so, svāhā! Through Candra as god, the directions-world of worlds, the Brahmaveda of Vedas, through that I pacify you, so-and-so, svāhā!’
