atha paryukṣya agniḥ śraddhāṃ ca medhāṃ ca vinipātaṃ smṛtiṃ ca me īḷito jātavedāḥ śunaṃ naḥ saṃprayacchatu ityagnimupatiṣṭhate \7\
Then, having sprinkled water around, he approaches the fire with, 'May Agni, praised Jātavedas, grant us faith, intellect, freedom from failure, and memory for our welfare!'
