'The mountains are hidden, the great earth is hidden; from the day and from all the quarters I conceal another from the fathers, for so-and-so, svāhā! The seasons are hidden, well-joined day and night; the half-months and the months are limbs; homage to you, O fair-faced one, svāhā! Those [waters] that stand, those that flow, those that stand around with water—with the waters, the supporters of all, I place [myself] elsewhere than the father, for so-and-so, svāhā! In that my mother went astray, unfaithful to her husband—may my father take that seed; let another fall away, they say, for so-and-so, svāhā!'—[these are] four [verses] in place of the great mystical utterances in case of performing it elsewhere.
