athāsya mūrddhānamavajighrati \ prajāpateṣṭvā hiṃkāreṇāvajighrāmi sahasrāyuṣā 'sau jīva śaradaḥ śatamiti \3\

He then kisses his head with (the words), 'With the himkâra (the mystical syllable hiṅ) of Pragâpati, which gives thousandfold life, I kiss thee, N.N.! Live a hundred autumns!'—
