puruṣīm̐ haste gṛhītvā prasāre vīraṃ bāhubhyāṃ bāhukārīm abhiruhya hastinaṃ puruṣaṃ bhūmiṃ pṛṣṭhe 'śvaṃ gāṃ puche hiraṇyaṃ gṛhītvā vāsaḥ paridhāyākramyāprāṇaṃ chattraṃ daṇḍe ratham īṣāyāṃ grāmaṃ madhye gṛhaṃ praviśya śayyām āruhyājaṃ karṇe meṣam ūrṇāyāṃ mahiṣam̐ śṛṅga udakumbhaṃ gṛhītvā kūpam avalokya taḍāgam avatīrya karakaśaṅkhaśuktipravālāni gṛhītvā yac cānyat kiṃcit sāmudram̐ śaṅkunā coṣṭrān pratodena kharān aśvatarān utkṣipya rasān anulihya gandhān sragdāmāni cāruhya vanaspatīn annaṃ gṛhītvā /
Having taken a woman by the hand; a brave man in outstretched embrace; having mounted a manual laborer with both arms; an elephant, a man, and land on the back; a horse and a cow by the tail; having taken gold; having put on a garment; having stepped onto an inanimate object; an umbrella by the shaft; a chariot by the pole; a village in the middle; having entered a house; having climbed onto a bed; a goat by the ear; a ram by the wool; a buffalo by the horn; having taken a water jar; having looked into a well; having descended into a pond; having taken a water pot, conch shell, pearl-oyster shell, corals, and whatever other oceanic item there is; camels with a peg; asses and mules with a goad; having raised them up; having licked saps; having smelled perfumes; having climbed onto garland-chains; trees; having taken food;
11.1.2.2
śrāvyamantro brāhmaṇasya japamantro rājanyasyopām̐śumantro vaiśyasya śūdrasya gṛhān niṣkramya bahir upaspṛśya manasā mantram āvartayet /
The mantra is to be recited aloud for a brāhmaṇa, the mantra muttered for a rājanya, the mantra in a whisper for a vaiśya; having gone outside from the house of a śūdra and touched water, he should mentally repeat the mantra.
11.1.2.3
ya evam̐ vidvān pratigṛhṇāti punāti dātāraṃ punāti cātmānaṃ punāti dakṣiṇā deveṣu vettāham iti /
He who, knowing thus, accepts [a gift], purifies the giver, purifies himself, [and] purifies the sacrificial gift among the gods, [saying,] 'I know'.
