śrāvyamantro brāhmaṇasya japamantro rājanyasyopām̐śumantro vaiśyasya śūdrasya gṛhān niṣkramya bahir upaspṛśya manasā mantram āvartayet /

The mantra is to be recited aloud for a brāhmaṇa, the mantra muttered for a rājanya, the mantra in a whisper for a vaiśya; having gone outside from the house of a śūdra and touched water, he should mentally repeat the mantra.
