evaṃ caturaśre āpādite pārśvamānyā purastādu pasaṃharet, śrutisāmarthyāt--""catuḥśikhaṇḍe yuvatī kanīne'' iti yuvatisādṛśyānuvādaḥ sāmarthyam //
When it has thus been brought into a quadrilateral, one should contract it in front by the side measurer on account of the authority of the Vedic text: 'Four-braided, youthful maidens'—this restatement of similarity to a maiden is the authority.
