30.19
yo 'kṣṇayāravjjā pramāṇādatirikto 'ṃśaḥ sa viśeṣasaṃjñaḥ /
"ardhe tadviśeṣamabhyasya' ityādyudāharaṇam //
That portion of the diagonal cord which exceeds the measure is called the difference (viśeṣa).
'Having added its difference to half' and so on is the illustration.
