bahvṛcaṃ hi niyuñjyād yaḥ paurohitye tu pārthivaḥ | sa tārapaṅke hastīva saha tenaiva majjati ||

For whatever ruler appoints a Ṛgvedic priest to the office of royal domestic priest, / he sinks along with him, like an elephant in deep mud.
