upanyāsastu karttavyaḥ kaṇṭhe nikṣepasaṃjñakaḥ
upanyāsātparaṃ hanyād bhūmau śaṅkupadam yathā

An introductory placement should be made, designated as throwing down in the throat; / after the introductory placement one should strike, like the place of a peg in the ground.
