samāne 'pi tu śabdatve dṛṣṭaḥ saṃpratyayaḥ padāt
prativarṇaṃ tv asau nāsti padasyārtham ato viduḥ //
Even though wordhood is equal, comprehension is seen from the word, / but this does not exist phoneme by phoneme; therefore they recognize the meaning of the word.
