prāptasya yasya sāmarthyān niyamārthā punaḥ śrutiḥ
tenātyantaṃ viśeṣeṇa sāmānyaṃ yadi bādhyate //

If a general principle, which has already obtained by capacity, is completely set aside / by that specific rule through a direct Vedic statement (śruti) whose purpose is restriction;
