vākyānāṃ samudāyaś ca ya ekārthaprasiddhaye
sākāṅkṣāvayavas tatra vākyārtho 'pi na vidyate //
And when there is a collection of sentences for the sake of accomplishing a single meaning, / having mutually expectant parts, there is not even a sentence-meaning in that [individual sentence].
