arthitvam atra sāmarthyam asminn artho na bhidyate
śāstrāt prāptādhikāro 'yaṃ vyudāso 'sya kriyāntare //

Here, having a desire [for the result] constitutes eligibility (sāmarthya); in this case, the meaning is not split; / this qualification is obtained from scripture; there is its exclusion from another ritual action;
