adeśānāṃ ghaṭādīnāṃ deśāḥ saṃbandhino yathā
ākāśasyāpy adeśasya deśāḥ saṃbandhinas tathā //
Just as pots and the like, which do not [themselves] constitute spaces, have spaces as their relata,
so also ether, which does not constitute a space, has spaces as its relata.
