[On] "ṣaṭcaturbhyaśca" (7.1.55): Due to the mention of the plural, predominance of the meaning is intended; and through the medium of the word, followability of ām from the meaning [is established]. Therefore, even though there is a rule applying to that which ends therein, it occurs only in paramacaturṇām and the like, but not in a bahuvrīhi.
