vaha pradesa uṭhi gayau svatantra. saṭha Banārasī sādhai mantra.
barasa eka laũ kīnau kheda. dīnaũ nā̃hi aura kaũ bheda. //

That man left for another land at his own will, while the foolish Banārasīdās practiced the mantra. / For a full year he endured hardship, revealing the secret to no one else.
