aparyāptaṃ tad asmākaṃ balaṃ bhīṣmābhirakṣitam
paryāptaṃ tv idam eteṣāṃ balaṃ bhīmābhirakṣitam
varī kṣatriyāṃmājī śreṣṭhu |
jo jagajeṭhī jagīṃ subhaṭu |
tayā daḷavaipaṇācā pāṭu |
bhīṣmāsi paiṃ ||

Moreover, the foremost among kṣatriyas, / the champion of the world, a great warrior in the world— / the post of commander-in-chief / belongs to Bhīṣma indeed.
