bṛhatsāma tathā sāmnāṃ gāyatrī chandasām aham
māsānāṃ mārgaśīrṣo 'ham ṛtūnāṃ kusumākaraḥ
vedarāśīciyā sāmā- |
āṃta bṛhatsāma je priyottamā |
teṃ mī mhaṇe ramā- |
prāṇeśvaru ||

'Among the collection of Vedas, among the Sāman hymns,
that which is the Bṛhatsāman, O dearest one,
that am I,' said the lord
of the life of Ramā.
