ūrdhvaṃ gacchanti sattvasthā madhye tiṣṭhanti rājasāḥ
jaghanyaguṇavṛttasthā adho gacchanti tāmasāḥ
taiseṃ sattvāceni naṭanāceṃ |
asṇeṃ jāṇeṃ jayāṃceṃ |
te tanutyāgīṃ svargīṃce |
rāya hotī ||

Thus, those whose living and departing / are governed by the play of sattva, / upon abandoning the body, / become kings in heaven.
